Thursday results
MECHANICSBURG – Junior
Allison Schafer broke her own school record in the 1000 free and the 200 medley relay also set a school record on the first night of the PSAC Swimming Championships, which began Thursday at Cumberland Valley High School.
Schafer was 11th in the 1000 free in 10:34.06, lowering her record of 10:41.63 that she set last year when she placed 19th. Schafer was one of 13 swimmers in the field to reach the NCAA “B” standard.

Kimberly Lawson and junior
Andrea Tremper placed seventh in 1:48.52, lowering last year's record of 1:50.01 that placed 11th. The Warriors were one of seven schools to hit the NCAA “B” standard.
Vavra led off in the back in 28.25, followed by Coy in 30.55 in the breast, Lawson in 25.58 in the fly, and Tremper in 24.14 in the free.

The championships continue with prelims on Friday morning, the second of four days of competition in central PA.
