PHILADELPHIA - Elizabeth Marrosu scored three of her four goals in the second half to help Philadelphia University pull away for a 16-10 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference women's lacrosse on Sunday afternoon.

Junior midfielder Nicole Miller scored three goals to lead ESU (0-2), which was coming off a 12-11 (OT) loss to Holy Family in its season opener on Tuesday.

Junior attack Sarah Studdiford scored two goals and five other players scored one goal each.

Philadelphia U (3-3) led 7-2 at halftime and 8-2 early in the second half before ESU scored four of the next five goals - from senior attack Sarah Ginn, freshman midfielder Kaitlynn Wiltraut, Miller and senior midfielder Brandi Smith - to pull within 9-6 with just under 20 minutes left.

Marrosu scored three goals in a 4-0 run for the Lady Rams to put it away. Emily Ray had three goals and three assists and Liz Mower had two goals and four assists.

Sophomore attack Emily Powell and freshman attack Lauren Nunes scored goals late in the second half. Nunes had five goals in her ESU debut against Holy Family on Tuesday.

Miller recorded her sixth career hat trick and went over the 50-goal mark for her career with 51.

Philadelphia U held a 29-16 advantage in shots, while ESU had a 16-10 edge in draw controls. Freshman attack Samantha Weinert had a team-high with five.

ESU is back on the field on Saturday with a home game at 1 p.m. against St. Thomas Aquinas.
