MILLERSVILLE – East Stroudsburg University was even with Millersville at halftime, but the Marauders had a five-goal burst early in the second half and came away with a 21-15 win over the Warriors in PSAC women's lacrosse on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman attack
Lauren Nunes scored a season-high five goals, three in the first half, for ESU (1-10, 0-7), which had No. 13-ranked Mercyhurst on the ropes in a 14-12 loss in its last game on Wednesday. The Warriors' 15 goals were a season-high.
Hannah Vogel scored seven goals, Brooke Fisher had five goals and one assist and Caitlin Shannon added four goals and three assists for Millersville (7-4, 3-4).

Nicole Miller added three goals for her third hat trick of the year and eight of her career. Senior attack

The Warriors led 7-4 with just over 12 minutes left in the half after a three-goal run by Ginn, Studdiford and Nunes, but Millersville scored the last two goals of the half and tied it at 9-9 going to intermission.
Ginn gave ESU a 10-9 lead with the first goal of the second half, coming 51 seconds into the period, but Millersville responded with the next five to go ahead 14-10 with 22:43 remaining.
Miller stemmed the tide with a free position goal to make it 14-11, but the Marauders scored the next seven goals in a 13-minute stretch for an insurmountable 21-11 advantage. ESU scored the final four goals to set the final margin.
Senior goalkeeper
Amanda Simms had eight saves for ESU, while Lauren Mateja had seven saves for Millersville. The Marauders held a 34-29 advantage in shots and a 20-18 edge in draw controls, including 12-7 in the second half.
ESU continues a four-game road swing with its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday at Georgian Court. The Warriors are at Slippery Rock and Edinboro before hosting Bloomsburg and Shippensburg in the next two weeks.
