ESU Tennis Falls at Marywood, 7-2, in Season Finale

SCRANTON - East Stroudsburg University won at first and third doubles, but Marywood took all six singles spots for a 7-2 win over the Warriors in non-conference tennis to finish the 2012-13 season on Saturday.

Sophomore Allison Bean and senior Rabecca Lausch won, 9-8 (7-5), at No. 1 doubles and sophomore Taylor Presby and freshman Sarah DiGregory won, 8-3, at No. 3 for the Warriors' two points.

At No. 3 singles, Marywood's Emily Hoskins had a 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3) win over freshman Amina Dickson in the closest match.

Lausch, ESU's No. 3 singles player for most of the season, played up at No. 2. She finished with a record of 12-7, the top individual mark this year.

Junior Annie Vega went 9-8, primarily at No. 4, and Presby was 8-8, mostly at No. 5. In doubles, Vega was 12-8 and Presby was 10-10. They combined for a 7-1 record when playing together.

The Warriors finish the season with a 5-12 record, including PSAC East wins over Shippensburg and Cheyney.
