MALVERN - East Stroudsburg University finished the 2012-13 women's golf season with a team title against a field of three other schools at the Eastern Invitational on Monday at White Manor Golf Club.
Sophomores
Malene Frost and
Kayla Grossi tied for second in the field with rounds of 86 to lead ESU. Freshman
Bridget Simons tied for fourth at 93 and senior
Alycia Jones tied for eighth at 96.
ESU, the only Division II program in the field, combined for a total of 361, 28 shots better than host Eastern's 389. Lebanon Valley shot 466 and Stevenson shot 549.
The par-71 course played at 5,162 yards.
Paige Brach of Alvernia was the medalist with a round of 85. Alvernia had only three entries and didn't figure into the team scoring. There were 20 individuals in the field.
Eastern was the top DIII finisher at the ESU Invitational on Sunday at Great Bear Golf Club, where ESU was fourth at 394 and Eastern fifth at 445.
Frost and Grossi posted the Warriors' lowest rounds (86) since Karen Cash shot a 73 in the first round of the PSAC Championships in 2010.
