EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University jumped out to an early two-goal lead, but No. 8-ranked Lock Haven proved to be too much, pulling away for a 17-6 win over the Warriors in PSAC lacrosse on Friday afternoon at Whitenight Field.
Freshman attack
Lauren Nunes scored 3:02 into the game and senior attack
Sarah Ginn found the net just over a minute later before Lock Haven (7-1, 4-0) got on the board.
It was 2-2 at the halfway mark of the first half, but the Lady Eagles took the lead with 13 minutes left and scored five goals in a four-minute stretch later in the period for an 8-2 halftime lead.
The two teams traded goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half, with senior midfielder
Brandi Smith and junior attack
Sarah Studdiford scoring for the Warriors (1-7, 0-4) to make it 10-4.
Lock Haven came back with the next seven goals before ESU scored twice in the final two minutes, coming from sophomore attack

Senior goalkeeper
Amanda Simms had 10 saves for ESU. Chrissy Baffuto started and made four saves for Lock Haven, with Cassidy Novotny making two saves in the final 6:30.
Rachel Ward led Lock Haven with five goals and Jessica Pandolf and Hope Thomas scored three each. Taylor Clunk had a goal and three assists.
ESU hosts IUP (7-0, 4-0) in its third home game of the week on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
