ERIE - Junior forward Jessica Lawville scored six minutes into the game, but Limestone (S.C.) responded with two goals in a three-minute stretch midway through the first half and held on for a 2-1 win over No. 9-ranked East Stroudsburg University in non-conference field hockey on Saturday morning at Mercyhurst University.

Lawville scored her first goal of the season and 17th of her career on a breakaway at the 5:46 mark of the contest, before Limestone answered with a pair of goals at 17:52 and 20:59.

Rebekah Baker tied it for the Saints with an unassisted goal, and Nicolle Grant was assisted by Jill Funkhouser on the go-ahead goal which proved to be the game-winner.

ESU had a 12-9 advantage in shots and 13-1 margin in penalty corners - including 6-0 in the second half.

Lindsay Hinton had eight saves for Limestone (3-1), which fell to Mercyhurst 3-1 on Friday. The Saints previously had a 3-2 win over No. 6 IUP last Sunday.

Freshman goalkeeper Madelyn Craver had three saves for the Warriors (2-2), who were coming off a 4-2 win over No. 3 Bloomsburg on Wednesday. ESU is now 4-1 all-time against Limestone, which is in its fifth season as a varsity program.

The Warriors will take on Mercyhurst in a non-conference game on Sunday at noon.
