KUTZTOWN - Senior
Kim Wernerspach was second in the women's race, one week after winning the individual title at Fordham, to lead East Stroudsburg University's cross country team at the Kutztown Division II Challenge on Saturday morning.
Wernerspach dropped 1:26 from last year's time on the same course to finish in 22:32.7, trailing only Vicki Davis of Bloomsburg (21:50.3), a multiple-time national qualifier for the Huskies.
ESU's women were eighth of 16 teams in a field that includes 192 individual finishers. Also scoring were sophomore
Chelsea Conover (32nd, 23:49.4), junior
Chelsea Wootten (65th, 24:31.2), senior
Kim Lowry (83rd, 24:57.7) and freshman
Lauren Toth (25:31.1).
The men were fifth of 13 schools, paced by junior
Chris Schneider, who was also an individual champion last week at Fordham. He pared 28 seconds off his time from last year, finishing 12th in 26:07.3.

The PSAC Championships will be held on the same course on Saturday, October 26.
The Warriors are idle next weekend and head to Salisbury, Md. for the Don Cathcart Invitational on September 28.
