ESU Tennis Wins Opener at Caldwell, 7-2

CALDWELL, N.J. – Four Warriors were double-winners as East Stroudsburg University opened its 2013-14 women's tennis dual schedule with a 7-2 win at Caldwell on Thursday.

Freshman Amber Jadus, senior Annie Vega, freshman Brianne Wood and junior Taylor Presby all won at third through sixth singles for the Warriors, who also swept all three doubles matches against the Cougars (0-3).

Junior Allison Bean and Vega won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, sophomore Amina Dickson and Presby won 8-6 at No. 2, and Jadus and Wood had an 8-3 win at No. 3.

At first singles, Dickson fell to Emily Slater, 6-0, 6-0. Bean fell to Gwynne Alden, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 2.

The Warriors are away from competition this weekend and travel to Bloomsburg next weekend (Sept. 28-29) for the Huskies' annual Fall Invitational.
