WEST CHESTER – Seven players scored goals as No. 2-ranked West Chester secured an 8-1 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University in non-conference field hockey on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore forward
Ally Roth scored ESU's (2-4) goal 12:25 into the game to cut the deficit to 2-1, but WCU answered with a Megan Callanan goal four minutes later.
West Chester led 3-1 at halftime and Lykens scored 35 seconds into the second half to widen the margin. The final goal came with 2:21 remaining, and the eight goals are the most scored against ESU since a 9-0 loss at Ursinus in 1947.
West Chester had just a 19-14 advantage in shots, but Audree Bonavita made 10 saves. Freshman
Danielle Ard (four saves, 62:44) and sophomore
Alexis Charles (one goal, 7:16) shared time in the cage for ESU.
Roth's goal was her eighth of the season, giving her half of ESU's 16 goals through six games.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at ESU in a PSAC match-up. The PSAC moved to a single-division format this fall, resulting in 10 conference games and four "non-conference" games against PSAC opponents, including Saturday's game at West Chester.
