ROYERSFORD - Junior Kayla Grossi was the individual winner and East Stroudsburg University placed third at the Ursinus Invitational, held Tuesday at Raven's Claw Golf Club.

Grossi shot an 81, sophomore Bridget Simons was tied for second with an 83, junior Malene Frost tied for 11th at 94 and sophomore Jen Jordan was 38th with a 122.

ESU was the only Division II school competing in a field of 10, with seven schools factoring in the team scoring. Eastern won with a 376, followed by Franklin & Marshall (377), ESU (380), Alvernia (389), Stevenson (403), Muhlenberg (408) and Lebanon Valley (450). Albright, Arcadia and Ursinus also participated but did not score.

Grossi had a two-shot margin over three golfers in Simons, Megan Kimmel (Lebanon Valley) and Shannon Massot (Arcadia).

The par-71 course played at 5,999 yards. ESU's Regan Zimmerman was the individual winner last year with a 91, and ESU was first of three schools.
