EAST STROUDSBURG - Cara Deola scored the game's only goal in the 64th minute as West Chester, the defending NCAA Division II Atlantic Region champion and PSAC preseason favorite, knocked off No. 15 East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's soccer on Tuesday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Deola scored on a cross from Lexi Brown 18:41 into the second half for West Chester (4-3, 4-3), which got three saves from Alex Srolis in goal. The Golden Rams held a 9-8 edge in shots.

Senior goalkeeper Brittain Wagner had five saves for ESU (5-2, 5-2), which suffered its second straight 1-0 loss. The Warriors fell to Lock Haven for their first loss of the season on Saturday night.

ESU was ranked No. 15 in this week's NSCAA Division II poll earlier in the day, after holding the No. 6 national ranking last week. The Warriors were previously ranked No. 15 on September 10.

ESU was coming off its first win over West Chester in 10 years last fall, a 2-1 victory. WCU improved to 104-16-14 in conference games since 2003.

The Warriors are away from action until next Wednesday, hosting Clarion at 4 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
