DOYLESTOWN - Delaware Valley won the final two bouts to break a 13-13 tie and post a 22-13 dual win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference wrestling on Saturday night.
Delaware Valley, ranked 12th in Division III by d3wrestle.com and unranked by the NWCA, won six bouts - four by decision, one major decision and one fall.
Junior
Anthony Marino won a 5-3:ot decision over Zac Haynes, ranked No. 5 in DIII (NWCA) to open the night at 125 pounds, but DVC won the next four bouts to take a 13-3 lead.
Freshman
Joey Kratochvil dropped a 5-3 decision to Connor Kirkegaard at 133, redshirt freshman
Marius Kola fell 3-0 to David Davidson at 141, junior
Joseph Hoy dropped a 19-8 major decision to Vinny Fava at 149, and redshirt sophomore
Eric Howey lost a 11-7 decision to Emmanuel Ajagbe at 157.
The Warriors won the next three bouts to tie it at 13-13. No. 5-ranked
Braden Turner improved to 23-4 with a 4-0 decision at 157, No. 5
Brendan McKeown won a 17-5 major decision at 174 and redshirt junior
Luke DeLuise won an 8-1 decision at 184.
Delaware Valley won a key bout at 197 pounds, where Aaron Karns (#7 in DIII) won a 5-0 decision over sophomore
Tyson Searer, a returning DII national qualifier. DVC finished the night with Zach Roseberry's pin late in the second period (4:52) against freshman
Tyler Richardson.
The Warriors will host Wilkes, ranked No. 20 in the NWCA DIII poll, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
