EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior forward Jessica Martin had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks for her eighth double-double of the season as East Stroudsburg University moved back over the .500 mark with a 70-58 win over Cheyney in PSAC East women's basketball on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Sophomore guard Helena Gemmell scored 11 points and freshman guard Audrey Stapleton had 10, both one off their respective career-highs, for the Warriors (9-8, 4-3), who head to PSAC East leader West Chester on Saturday.

Junior guard Ryann Fiascki had eight points and six rebounds and sophomore center Michelle Boggs had a season-high eight points and tied her season-best with seven rebounds for ESU. Freshman forward Allison Howard had seven points and seven boards.

The Warriors led 33-23 at halftime and used a 17-2 run early in the second half to pull away. Cheyney (2-14, 2-5) scored the final 15 points to close the gap to 12 after ESU led 70-43 with just under five minutes left.

ESU held Cheyney to 31.5 percent shooting and forced 27 turnovers. The Warriors had a 50-43 advantage on the glass.

THE MATCH-UP: East Stroudsburg University hosts Cheyney in PSAC East women's basketball tonight at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors (8-8, 3-3) are tied for 5th in the PSAC East with 10 games remaining in the regular season, all against divisional opponents. Cheyney (2-13, 2-4) is coming off a 61-60 upset win vs. Millersville on Saturday.

ESU holds a 60-28 advantage in the all-time series and has won 4 straight games and 5 of the last 6, after Cheyney won 5 straight. The Warriors have won 8 of the last 10 meetings at Koehler Fieldhouse.

LAST TIME OUT: ESU fell at Bloomsburg, 63-51, in its only game last week. The Warriors led 28-26 at halftime before the Huskies won the 2nd half, 37-23. ESU was coming off consecutive comeback wins against Pitt-Johnstown and Shippensburg. Jr. F Jessica Martin (10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks) and Fr. F Allison Howard (9 points, 5 rebounds) were ESU's top scorers.

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University broke open a close game with a 23-2 second-half run and head coach Jeff Wilson earned his 200th career win as No. 6-ranked East Stroudsburg University remained unbeaten at 17-0 with a 60-44 win over Cheyney in PSAC East men's basketball on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Junior guard Whis Grant had 14 points and a career-high eight rebounds to lead four Warriors in double figures. Freshman forward Rasheed Moore had 12 points and eight rebounds, junior forward Lamont Tillery had 11 points and sophomore guard Jamal Nwaniemeka added 10.

ESU led 28-20 at halftime, then trailed 35-33 with 10:18 left before breaking the game wide open as Cheyney managed just one field goal in an eight-minute stretch.

THE MATCH-UP: ESU, ranked No. 6 in Division II, continues the defense of its 2013 PSAC East regular season as the Warriors host Cheyney tonight at Koehler Fieldhouse. ESU (16-0, 6-0 PSAC East) has already set school records for its best overall start and divisional start, and its #6 national ranking is the highest in school history. Head coach Jeff Wilson '86, in his 12th season, enters with a career record of 199-127.

ESU has won 9 straight against Cheyney, its best stretch in a series that goes back to 1954. Cheyney has a 70-52 advantage all-time.
