WEST CHESTER - Dallas Ely, the PSAC's leading scorer, had 26 points and eight rebounds and Brittany Sicinski added 20 points to lead PSAC East leader West Chester to an 83-68 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University in women's basketball on Saturday at Hollinger Fieldhouse.
Junior forward
Jessica Martin had 19 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots to lead ESU (9-9, 4-4), which opens the second half of divisional play at Mansfield on Wednesday night.
Anna Kuntz added 13 points and eight rebounds for West Chester (12-6, 7-1). Kendall Benovy had nine points and Jasmen Clark had eight for the Golden Rams.
West Chester shot 53.3 percent (32-for-60) from the field and 6-for-12 from the three-point line.
ESU shot 44.1 percent (26-for-59) and made a season-high eight three-pointers, including three off the bench from senior guard
Halie Cintron.
Sophomore guard
Helena Gemmell had seven points, sophomore guard
Melissa Poderis had seven points and five assists and sophomore guard
Tyeca Reviere scored six points for the Warriors.
West Chester led 41-31 at halftime and held off ESU in the second half. The Warriors cut the deficit to eight at two points, the trimmed a 17-point lead (72-55) to 75-66 on a three by Gemmell with just over three minutes left, but Ely scored West Chester's last eight points.
ESU won its first meeting with Mansfield (0-18, 0-8), 63-56, on November 20 at Koehler Fieldhouse as the Warriors survived a huge Mansfield comeback behind 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks by Martin.
