Warriors Basketball Hosts Kutztown Saturday, Live on Blue Ridge TV-13

THE MATCH-UP: East Stroudsburg University hosts Kutztown on Alumni Day at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Warriors (10-9, 5-4 PSAC East) have won 4 of their last 6 games, including their last two at Koehler. ESU is coming off a 67-49 win at Mansfield, while Kutztown (6-12, 3-5) has lost four straight and was idle on Wednesday night. KU won the first meeting, 59-58, on Nov. 23 after ESU led by 6 with two minutes left.

LAST TIME OUT: Fr. F Allison Howard scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Jr. F Jessica Martin had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks in ESU's win at Mansfield. The Warriors shot 26-for-29 (89.7%) at the foul line, with Howard going 13-for-14. ESU led 21-20 at halftime before breaking the game open with a 17-3 run early in the 2nd half.

WARRIORS NOTES: ESU leads the PSAC in field goal % defense (37.5) and 3-point % defense (25.2), and ranks 3rd in scoring defense (62.5 ppg) ... ESU also leads the PSAC in blocks (5.3 per game) and Martin leads the PSAC individually (3.0 - 7th in DII) ... Martin's 57 blocks are more than 11 of the other 17 PSAC schools ... she is tied for 12th in PSAC history with 194 career blocks, 6 away from the top 10 ... Martin is 13 rebounds from ESU's career top 10, entering with 582, and 32 points from the top 10 in career points, entering with 790 ... Howard had her 4th double-double of the year ... she is a 3-time PSAC East Freshman of the Week ... Howard's 13 free throws at Mansfield were ESU's most since current asst. coach DeAnna Rayam hit 13 vs. Bloomsburg in 2010 ... So. G Melissa Poderis is 5th in the PSAC in assist-turnover ratio (1.8).

THE MATCH-UP: ESU, ranked No. 6 in Division II, continues the defense of its 2013 PSAC East regular season title as the Warriors host Kutztown.  ESU (19-0, 9-0 PSAC East) has already set school records for its best overall start and divisional start, and its #6 national ranking is the highest in school history. Head coach Jeff Wilson '86, in his 12th season, enters with a career record of 202-127 and won his 200th game on Jan. 22 vs. Cheyney.

LAST TIME OUT: ESU trailed 50-48 with 15:20 left - then went on a 34-3 run in just over 6 minutes to sprint past Mansfield for a 112-79 win on Wednesday night. Fr. F Sultan Aminu (18) led 6 Warriors in double figures. ESU scored on 16 straight possessions, and 31 of its last 35 trips, in a 75-point 2nd half - its highest-scoring half under Wilson.

WARRIORS NOTES: ESU's 19-0 start is PSAC's best since 1994-95 (IUP, 21-0) ... ESU has the longest active win streak in DII, is one of 2 unbeatens remaining (Tarleton State, 17-0) and is ranked in Top 10 in DII for the 5th straight week ... Warriors lead the PSAC in 6 categories - scoring margin (+20.7), scoring (88.2), turnover margin (+8.2), assist-turnover margin (1.43), assists (17.9) and steals (11.1) ... ESU entered the week 2nd in DII in turnover margin and 3rd in scoring margin ... Jr. G Whis Grant (17.4 ppg) is 7th in PSAC in scoring, and 12th in ESU history (1,256) ... he is the reigning PSAC East Athlete of the Week with career-high 31 points at WCU ...
