Warriors Wrestling Posts 48-6 Win at Scranton

SCRANTON - East Stroudsburg University won two bouts by fall and three by technical fall, posting a 48-6 win at Scranton in non-conference wrestling on Wednesday night.

Junior Joseph Hoy (149) had a first-period pin and redshirt senior Braden Turner (165), ranked No. 8 in Division II at 157 pounds, had his third pin of the season with a second-period fall for the Warriors.

Turner improved to 20-4 on the season, his third straight season with at least 20 wins. Redshirt sophomore Eric Howey (157) won by technical fall for his 10th win of the year.

Junior Anthony Marino (125) and redshirt senior Brendan McKeown (174), ranked No. 5 in Division II, also won by technical fall.

Sophomore Tyson Searer (197) won by decision for ESU's sixth win on the mat. The Warriors gained three wins by forfeit from freshman Joey Kratochvil (133), redshirt junior Luke DeLuise (184) and freshman Tyler Richardson (285).

The Warriors, who wrestled three duals at the Mid-Atlantic Duals last Sunday in Ashland, Ohio, are off until next Tuesday (January 14) when they travel to Shippensburg for a PSAC contest.
