Samantha Miller was the medalist by three shots, helping East Stroudsburg University to the team title by seven strokes against a field of four Division III schools at the Ursinus Invitational on Sunday and Monday at Patriots Glen National Golf Club.

Miller shots rounds of 83 and 86 for a 36-hole total of 169, edging Morgan Wirtz of runner-up Stevenson by three shots. Wirtz shot an 89 on Sunday and closed with an 83 on Monday.

ESU carded a total of 711, edging Stevenson (718) by seven shots. Stevenson had the second, third and fourth finishers in Wirtz, Emily Haas (174) and Alicia Greene (177). Haas held a one-shot lead after the first day against a field of 26 golfers. The par-72 course played at 6,035 yards.

Bridget Simons was fifth for ESU at 179, followed by seniors
Kayla Grossi (6th, 181) and
Malene Frost (7th, 182). Freshman
Mackenzie Mathna was 15th (209).

ESU has won the team title at Ursinus in two of the last three years. Last year the Warriors were third of seven schools, edged by Eastern and Franklin & Marshall, and they finished first of three schools in fall 2012.

The Warriors finish their fall schedule at the PSAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Hershey Links Golf Course, looking to improve on a ninth-place finish from a year ago.
