Desiree Claxton had eight kills for the Warriors (6-21, 2-16).
Aly York had team-highs with nine kills and 14 digs to lead Kutztown (12-14, 6-12).
Claxton has 274 kills this season, fourth-most by an ESU freshman since 1990. ESU's freshman record is 315 kills by Kayla Mahaffay in 2007.
Welch hit double-figures in kills for the 12th time this season and the 30th time in her career.
The Warriors host Shippensburg on Friday at 7 p.m. and Millersville on Saturday at 1 p.m. in their final home action of the 2014 season. ESU finishes the season the following weekend with matches at Cheyney (Nov. 7) and West Chester (Nov. 8).
