EAST STROUDSBURG - Four players scored their first career goals as East Stroudsburg University improved to 8-1 with a 6-0 win over Bloomfield in non-conference women's soccer on Saturday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
 
ESU, ranked No. 16 in the most recent NSCAA Division II coaches poll, won its eighth straight game in advance of a trip to Clarion on Wednesday to open the second half of the PSAC schedule.
 
ESU led 4-0 at halftime, scoring four goals in a 16-minute stretch in the first half. The Warriors held advantages of 30-9 in shots and 16-2 in corner kicks.
 
Junior midfielder Syrandin Deere Vester, making her 26th career start, was one of four Warriors to score their first career goals. Sophomore forward Liia Carpenter, sophomore forward Olivia Davidovich and freshman back Kelly Redl also found the net for the first time.
 
Sophomore back Laurel Neira, last week's PSAC Athlete of the Week, and senior forward Courtney Keller also scored for the Warriors. Keller's goal was her team-leading fifth of the season and the 10th of her career.
 
Deere Vester opened ESU's scoring in the 17th minute and Neira scored a minute later. Keller scored in the 24th minute, Carpenter struck in the 33rd, Davidovich in the 55th and Redl in the 79th.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Jess Hetrick made one save for ESU. Diana Vincenti had 14 saves for Bloomfield (1-9).
 
Freshman back Amanda Vojta, second in the PSAC with 0.63 assists per game entering the weekend, had two assists to raise her season total to seven assists in nine games.
 
ESU entered the weekend tied with West Chester for the top spot in the PSAC standings with 21 points. The Warriors travel to Clarion (3-6-1, 3-6-1) on Wednesday and host IUP (7-2-2, 7-2-1) on Saturday in their two games next week.
 
GAME NOTES
* ESU's 8-game winning streak is the 2nd-longest in school history. The Warriors won 13 consecutive games in 1994.
