Photo GalleryRelated: NCAA DII Atlantic Regional home pageEAST STROUDSBURG - West Virginia Wesleyan, the No. 5 seed in the Atlantic Regional, advanced to the regional final on penalty kicks (4-2) after a scoreless tie at No. 1 seed East Stroudsburg University in the second round of the NCAA DII Women's Soccer Tournament on Sunday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
ESU (20-1-1), which entered with a school-record 20-game winning streak and the No. 2 national ranking in the NSCAA DII poll, ends a historic season that includes the third PSAC championship in program history.
WV Wesleyan (13-4-3), which advanced to the second round with a 1-0 win over Notre Dame (Ohio) on Friday, will face West Chester in the regional final this Friday. West Chester also advanced on penalty kicks, 4-2, after a 2-2 tie against California on Sunday.
WV Wesleyan goalkeeper Lauren Duncan had two saves and the Bobcats converted all four of their penalty kicks to advance in the NCAA Tournament.
ESU's 20-game winning streak was the second-longest in PSAC history behind only a 23-game winning streak by West Chester in 2006.
The Warriors will take a 21-game unbeaten streak in the 2015 season, and finished 2014 with a 56-11 goal differential.
ESU was in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history and posted its only win over WV Wesleyan, 4-0, in the first round in 2008. The Warriors also qualified in 2007 and have a 1-2-1 record in four NCAA Tournament games.
WV Wesleyan had an 8-7 advantage in shots in the contest, with neither side generating many scoring opportunities. ESU had a 4-2 edge in the first half before the Bobcats held a 4-0 advantage in the second half.

Jess Hetrick and WV Wesleyan's Lauren Duncan both had three saves in the first 110 minutes to record shutouts.
Hetrick had her fourth shutout in five starts this year, including 1-0 vs. Kutztown in the PSAC championship game last Saturday, after freshman goalkeeper
Jules Harris (All-PSAC second team) was injured late in ESU's 3-2 win over California in the PSAC semifinals.
In penalty kicks, WV Wesleyan had all four penalty takers convert - Rachel Ritchey, Abbey Lindblad, Kelsey Sitka and Cris Eddy.
ESU posted its 13th shutout of the season and broke the school record for shutouts (10) set by the 1994 team that went 18-2 and outscored opponents, 101-13. ESU's 11 goals allowed in 2014 are also the fewest in program history.
