SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore Tyler Richardson placed third at 197 pounds and junior Tyson Searer was fourth at 285 pounds for East Stroudsburg University at the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College on Saturday.
 
Richardson wrestled back with four straight pins out of the consolation bracket, posting the first three in the first period before notching a pin late in the second period (4:33) against Phil Azzari of the Coast Guard Academy in the consolation final.
 
Searer reached the semifinals with three straight victories, the first two by fall, before falling 3-0 to eventual champion Terrance Jean-Jacques (Coast Guard) at 285 pounds. Searer won a 6-1 decision against Chris Florek (Stevens Institute) to reach the consolation final before finishing with a medical forfeit.

Sophomore Connor Maliff (125 pounds) was also a quarterfinalist for the Warriors, winning two bouts to reach the round of eight.

Sophomore Joey Kratochvil won three straight consolation bouts at 157 pounds, and sophomores Marius Kola (133) and Joey Fogle (165) both won two in the consolations.

Overall, ESU's nine wrestlers were 19-15 at Springfield.

The Warriors will travel to Pitt-Johnstown for a PSAC dual on Tuesday, November 25.
