WILKES-BARRE - Freshman Kate Zimmerman won the 200 IM and 200 breast and junior Ashleigh Podhayny won the 100 free, leading East Stroudsburg University women's swimming at the Diamond City Invitational at the Wilkes-Barre Catholic Youth Center, hosted by King's College, on Saturday and Sunday.
 
ESU athletes clocked five new and seven improved PSAC qualifying times over the two day event.

The Warriors (725.5 points) finished first of nine schools, edging Misericordia (716) for the top spot. King's was third (500), followed by Hood (418), Mansfield (370), Mount Saint Mary's (334), Arcadia (275.5), Wilkes (106) and Stevenson (31).
 
Zimmerman won the 200 IM in 2:16.74 and 200 breast in 2:27.67, lowering her PSAC qualifying times in both events. She clocked a new PSAC qualifier in the 400 IM (4:53.30).
 
Podhayny had three new PSAC qualifiers and has qualified in eight events this season. She won the 100 free in 54.26 and had PSAC times in the 50 free (25.78) and 400 IM (4:46.82).
 
Six other Warriors also had new or improved PSAC times - senior Mara Palazzari in the 100 free (54.72), senior Karoline Vavra in the 100 free (54.80), senior Jamie Kane in the 200 breast (2:33.45), junior Sophie Coy in the 200 breast (2:29.83), freshman Colleen Dwyer in the 100 back (1:02.14) and freshman Annie Fagan in the 50 free (25.63).
 
Second-place individual finishes came from Podhayny in the 400 IM, Vavra in the 200 free, Kane in the 100 breast, Dwyer in the 200 back, Palazzari in the 100 free and Coy in the 200 breast.

The Warriors will compete at TCNJ on December 5-7 in their final action of the fall semester.
