BETHLEHEM - Senior Christina O'Connor and junior William Berry hit NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks in the high jump as East Stroudsburg University opened the 2014-15 indoor track and field season on Saturday at Lehigh.

O'Connor, a two-time All-America, three-time national qualifier and three-time PSAC champion, hit the provisional standard of 5-5. She won both PSAC indoor and outdoor titles last year and was an outdoor All-American in the spring.

Berry, who was a national qualifier both indoors and outdoors as a sophomore and won the PSAC outdoor title, cleared the men's provisional standard of 6-8 3/4.

The Warriors had a total of 13 PSAC qualifiers in the first meet of the season.

The women were led by O'Connor and senior Danielle Smith (60m - 7.94), a seven-time PSAC champion and the defending PSAC indoor champ in the 60m and 200m. Also running qualifying times were sophomore Alexis Bell (60m - 8.15), freshman Jaid Harsch (60m hurdles - 9.63) and sophomore Brandie Tartza (60m hurdles - 9.67).

The men had five PSAC qualifiers in the 60m hurdles led by sophomore Steven Morgan, the PSAC outdoor champ in the 110 hurdles and runner-up in the 60 hurdles as a freshman.

Morgan ran 8.31, followed by sophomore Ronald D'Eliseo (8.46), junior Adam Robertino (8.57), junior Derrick Washington (8.74) and junior Eric Conard (8.88).

Morgan also hit the PSAC qualifying standard in the 200m in 23.31.

Sophomore Sean Hagerty was a PSAC qualifier in the long jump at 21-0 1/2.

Senior Damien Boham ran the 500m in 1:07.19 and senior Steve Ruch (2:35.32) and junior Chris Ott (2:37.93) ran strong times in the 1000m. Neither event is contested at the PSAC Championships.

The Warriors will be away from action until the second semester, when they compete at the Kutztown Invitational on January 15-16.
