NEW YORK, N.Y. – East Stroudsburg University junior
Travis Toth improved his NCAA Division II provisional mark in the weight throw to 63-7 3/4, the fifth-best in DII this season, at the Millrose Games on Friday in New York City.
Toth hit a PR of almost 10 inches after throwing 62-9 1/4 at ESU's DeSchriver Invitational on February 2. He has the PSAC's best mark this year, surpassing Shippensburg's Chris Nelson (62-11 1/4), who ranks sixth nationally.
Toth was third in a field of five athletes. Paul Wagner, a 2011 ESU graduate and current assistant coach, was second at 68-0 1/2.
Junior
Mike Smith was fifth with a mark of 55-11 3/4. Smith has an NCAA provisional mark of 57-5 at the DeSchriver Invitational which ranks fifth in the PSAC and 30th nationally.
Senior
Elizabeth Madden was 10th in the women's weight throw at 50-3 1/4. She stands fourth in the PSAC with a season-best of 51-5 at Bucknell on January 25.
