EAST STROUDSBURG – Junior forward Jessica Martin had 18 points and 11 rebounds, including six key points down the stretch, and junior guard Ryann Fiascki (11 points) hit a three-pointer with 32.5 seconds left to give East Stroudsburg University a 57-54 win over Millersville in PSAC East women's basketball on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.

The victory gives ESU (13-9, 8-4) a four-game winning streak for the first time since winning five straight in 2008-09. The Warriors move into third in the PSAC East standings, a half-game ahead of Shippensburg (13-8, 7-4), with a trip to Shippensburg coming on Wednesday.

Martin added two blocks to move into the top 10 in PSAC history with 200 career blocks. She had her 10th double-double of the season, 20th of her career and her 25th game with 10+ rebounds.

ESU, the PSAC leader in field goal percentage defense (37.4), held Millersville to 32.7 percent (16-for-49) shooting from the field and forced 21 turnovers.

The Warriors entered with a half-game lead over Millersville (11-10, 6-5) for fourth in the divisional standings, and withstood a second-half surge by the Marauders, who came back from an 11-point deficit to take the lead (49-47) with 3:04 remaining.

Martin hit a jumper the next time down the floor, then put the Warriors ahead 51-49 with two free throws with 1:35 left. Millersville's Celeste Robinson split a pair to make it 51-50 with 1:19 to play, then Martin hit two more for a 53-50 advantage at the 1:06 mark.

Millersville's Carly Gallagher (23 points) made two free throws to cut it to 53-52 with 54 seconds remaining, but the Warriors came up big on their next possession. Martin found Fiascki on the left wing, and the junior guard buried the three to give ESU a 56-52 cushion.

Robinson sliced the margin to 56-54 with two foul shots, and ESU sophomore guard Helena Gemmell made 1-of-2 to put the Warriors ahead 57-54 with 19 seconds left.

Millersville had two looks at the tying three-pointer, by Gallagher and Sabina Mehmedovic, but neither would go and the Warriors prevailed.

The win is ESU's second in its last 16 tries against the Marauders. The only other recent win was a 65-58 victory in 2012, when Martin had 10 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks as a freshman. Millersville won 75-64 on December 7 in the first meeting this year, coming back from a nine-point deficit with seven minutes to play.

West Chester leads the PSAC East at 16-6 (11-1), followed by Bloomsburg (19-3, 10-2), ESU, Shippensburg and Millersville. Kutztown (7-14, 4-7) and Cheyney (4-17, 4-8) are battling for the sixth and final playoff spot.
