WILMINGTON, Del. – Senior
Laura Suits threw a complete game and three players had multiple hits as East Stroudsburg University won the first game of a doubleheader at Goldey-Beacom, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon.
Goldey-Beacom (1-6) won the second game, 3-2, on a walk-off single after the Warriors (2-5) rallied from a 2-0 deficit with two runs in the sixth inning.
ESU's doubleheader at USciences on Wednesday is canceled, so the Warriors' next action will come this weekend in Salem, Virginia.

Cara Woods was 3-for-4 and senior catcher
Rebecca Smith was 2-for-5 with two walks and four runs scored to lead the Warriors offensively.
GAME 1 – W 7-2
Suits went the distance in the circle, allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
Both teams scored in the first, with ESU capitalizing on a leadoff double by junior OF
Kasey Meckes followed by an RBI single by junior 2B
Jamie Smith.
The Warriors scored two in the fourth, opening with back-to-back walks by sophomore OF
Sierra Wagner and
Rebecca Smith, followed by an RBI single by junior 1B
Cara McNeil and an RBI double by Woods.
ESU took a 6-1 lead in the fifth with three unearned runs, taking advantage of an error early I the inning.
Rebecca Smith had an RBI single, Woods hit a sacrifice fly and Smith came around to score on a wild pitch.
Sophomore SS
Haley Thomas added an RBI single in the seventh.
Woods was 3-for-3 with two RBI, Smith was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs and Meckes was 2-for-5 with two runs to lead the offense. ESU had 11 hits and also drew six walks.
GAME 2 – L 3-2
Roni Peters hit a two-out single to left field in the seventh inning to end the day for Goldey-Beacom.
The Lightning scored two in the first before sophomore
Amanda Carlin settled in, going 6.1 innings before being relieved by freshman
Rachael Liguori with one out in the seventh.
The Warriors scored two runs in the sixth on a two-out double by senior
Amanda McKay, plating McNeil and
Rebecca Smith.
Courtney Dolson limited ESU to five hits for Goldey-Beacom, while Peters was 4-for-4 and leadoff hitter Ashley Zaccaria was 3-for-4.
