WEST CHESTER - Freshmen
Brianne Wood and
Amber Jadus both won in singles and combined for a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles, but East Stroudsburg University dropped a 6-3 decision at West Chester in its PSAC East women's tennis opener on Thursday afternoon.
Wood rallied from a set down for a three-set win over Abriana Nolan at No. 3 singles, and Jadus won 6-3, 6-0 over Haley Wissinger at No. 5 singles.
In doubles, the freshmen improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 at No. 3 doubles with a win over Cassidy Branigan and Stephanie Cifarelli.
West Chester won at first, second, fourth and sixth singles and first and second doubles.
ESU is scheduled for a non-conference match at Holy Family on Saturday.
