EASTON - NCAA indoor qualifiers Christina O'Connor and William Berry both hit PSAC qualifying marks in the high jump in their first outdoor action of the season, leading six East Stroudsburg University winners at the Lafayette 8-Way Meet on Saturday.

O'Connor, who cleared 5-5, and Berry, who topped 6-6 1/4, were also among six Warriors who hit PSAC qualifying marks for the first time this season.

Junior Mike Smith improved his PSAC mark in the hammer to 167-2, fifth-best in school history.

Other PSAC qualifiers were senior Colleen Murphy in the 400m (59.07), senior Brittany Callahan in the 3000m steeplechase (12:14.37), senior Kim Wernerspach in the 1500m (4:48.80) and sophomore Steve Ruch in the men's 3000m steeplechase (9:45.55).

Joining O'Connor and Berry as individual winners were Wernerspach, Ruch, senior Rachel Pierantozzi in the women's 100m dash (13.19) and senior Chris Schneider in the men's 3000m (8:46.82).

The women's 4x100m relay of Pierantozzi, freshman Alexis Bell, sophomore Tirzah Johnson and junior Danielle Smith was second in 49.35.

The Warriors will begin their April schedule next Saturday at the Muhleneberg Invitational, the third of six weekends to hit qualifying marks for the PSAC Championships on May 1-3 at Shippensburg.
