LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven ran its winning streak to seven games with two wins over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East softball on Monday in central Pennsylvania.

Lock Haven (14-21, 9-11) won the opener, 5-2, and took the nightcap, 3-2, scoring the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Jessie Probst retired the first 14 ESU batters in game two before a double by sophomore OF Sierra Wagner gave the Warriors their first baserunner. Sophomore 3B Lauren Cregan reached on an error and freshman SS Rae Holden walked to load the bases for senior Amanda McKay, who hit a two-run, two-out single to tie the game at 2-2.

Rachel Mouillesseaux relieved Probst to get out of the inning, and Lock Haven won the game with one out in the seventh. McKenna Garlock singled and was replaced by pinch-runner Morgan Palmer, who moved to second on a hit by pitch, then third and home on wild pitches.

In the opener, ESU (9-18, 4-8) scored twice in the first but Mouillesseaux held the Warriors without a run the rest of the way. Wagner and senior catcher Rebecca Smith both had two-out RBI singles in the first inning after junior OF Cara Woods singled and junior 1B Cara McNeil walked.

Smith was 3-for-3 in the opener and 3-for-6 in the doubleheader to lead ESU offensively, and Wagner also had a pair of hits.

Freshman Rachael Liguori threw 7.1 innings on the day, relieving in game one and starting game two. She allowed four runs (three earned) on 10 hits.

Garlock was 4-for-7 with an RBI and three runs to pace Lock Haven, and Jodi Weaknecht had a two-out, two-run single in the third inning to give LHU the lead in the opener.
