Rachael Liguori had a complete game victory with nine strikeouts in the circle and sophomore OF
Sierra Wagner hit a bases-clearing double in the first inning, leading East Stroudsburg University to a 4-3 win in the nightcap and a doubleheader split with Mansfield on Thursday in PSAC East softball.
Mansfield (16-10, 8-8), fifth in this week's NCAA DII Atlantic Region rankings, won the opener 7-2 behind a complete game from senior Kate Pratt, last year's PSAC Central Athlete of the Year.
ESU (10-19, 5-9) led 4-1 going into the seventh inning before Mansfield capitalized on two ESU miscues to close the margin to 4-3, loading the bases with Pratt at the plate. Liguori got Pratt to fly out to deep center to seal her second win of the season, and third complete game.
The Warriors host Shippensburg on Friday and Millersville on Saturday as part of an eight-game homestand at Zimbar Field.
Game 1 – L 7-2Kaitlyn Harris hit a two-out, three-run double in the third inning to get Mansfield on the board and Pratt limited ESU to two runs in the fifth inning.

Jamie Smith hit back-to-back doubles with two outs to score one run. Junior OF
Cara Woods walked, and junior 1B
Cara McNeil followed with a single to plate Smith and get ESU within two runs.
Mansfield scored once in the sixth and twice in the seventh, including an RBI double by Laura Lawson.
ESU had six hits with McNeil and Smith both collecting two hits each. Senior

Allison Mende (3.1 IP, 3 runs) split time in the circle for the Warriors.
Game 2 – W 4-3ESU scored four runs in the bottom of the first and Liguori made them count for her first career PSAC East win. Her nine strikeouts were a career-high, and she allowed just one earned run and didn't issue a walk.
Meckes got ESU started with a leadoff double, Smith was hit by a pitch and Woods had a bunt single to load the bases to open the frame. After a force play at home, Wagner came through with a three-run double to left center, and senior
Amanda McKay hit a two-out single to make it 4-0.
Mansfield scored in the second as Megan Miller hit a leadoff double and later scored on a double play.
The Warriors didn't manage any more runs, but Liguori limited Mansfield to just one run on five hits through six innings.
The Mounties made it interesting in the seventh, sending eight batters to the plate, but Pratt flied out to center to end it. Both Mansfield runs in the inning were unearned.
McKay had two hits and Meckes, Woods, McNeil and Wagner also collected hits for the Warriors.
Emily Crandell started and took the loss for Mansfield. Ashley Inman came on to pitch the final 3.0 innings, allowing just one baserunner on a walk and struck out three.
