MANSFIELD – Kate Pratt hit a walk-off single in the nightcap to give Mansfield a pair of wins over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East softball on Wednesday afternoon in north-central Pennsylvania.

Pratt threw a complete game in Mansfield's 19-7 (5 inn.) win in the opener, and capped a Mansfield comeback for a 5-4 win in game two.

ESU (14-23, 9-13) falls four games out of the fourth and final playoff spot in the PSAC East going into the final weekend of the regular season. Mansfield (19-13, 11-11) is currently fourth, followed by Lock Haven (18-23, 11-13) and Millersville (22-22, 10-14).

Junior OF Kasey Meckes hit a two-run homer to give ESU a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning of game two, but Mansfield rallied with four runs (three unearned) in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 4-4.

In the seventh, leadoff hitter Courtney Bauder doubled, Stephanie Simmeth reached on an infield single and Bauder scored from third on Pratt's RBI single to left field.

ESU scored in the first inning, loading the bases with two outs, and sophomore OF Sierra Wagner drew a walk for the game's first run.

Freshman SS Rae Holden hit her first career home run to lead off the second inning and give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.

Freshman Rachael Liguori threw her fifth straight complete game in the circle for ESU, holding Mansfield to two earned runs on seven hits. She beat the Mounties, 4-3, last Thursday at Zimbar Field.

Liguori went over the 100-inning mark for the season, the first ESU freshman to do that since Kristen Halvorsen in 2005.

In the opener, Mansfield scored three runs in the first inning, then added 11 runs in the second inning to take control. The Mounties had 17 hits with Pratt hitting the game's only home run.

ESU scored four runs in the fourth inning and three in the fifth. Junior 1B Cara McNeil was 1-for-3 with two RBI, senior Amanda McKay was 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and senior catcher Rebecca Smith went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI.

The Warriors travel to PSAC East leader West Chester (31-16, 16-8) on Friday at 1:30 p.m. before hosting Kutztown on Saturday at 1 p.m. in their final home doubleheader of the season. ESU finishes the regular season at Shippensburg on Sunday.
