SHIPPENSBURG – Freshman Lauren Green scored four goals for her first career hat trick, but Shippensburg came away with a 13-10 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC lacrosse on Wednesday afternoon.

Courtney Kennedy scored five goals and Bennett Widlake added three for Shippensburg (7-5, 4-3), which won for the third time in four games.

ESU (6-5, 1-5), which has dropped five straight since a 14-3 win over Kutztown on March 22, stayed within reach of the Lady Raiders before three goals extended Ship's lead to 13-8 with less than seven minutes left.

A goal by senior midfielder Nicole Miller, assisted by sophomore attack Lauren Nunes, brought the Warriors within 10-8 with 16:28 left. Widlake scored two of her three goals and Kennedy scored her fifth goal of the game in Ship's 3-0 run.

Senior attack Sarah Studdiford had two goals and two assists to go over the 50-goal mark for her career, with 51 career goals and 19 assists. Nunes scored her 49th career goal, and Miller her 92nd. ESU has had 14 players with 100 career goals in the last 30 years.

Sophomore midfielder Annastasia Porpora and redshirt freshman midfielder Jamie Zimmer also scored for ESU.

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Maxwell made 13 saves for ESU, which was outshot 33-22. Ally Frymoyer had six saves for Shippensburg.

The Warriors host Slippery Rock (4-7, 1-5) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field. The Rock has dropped two one-goal games in conference play and has an 18-7 win over Gannon on April 1.
