ESU PreviewSHIPPENSBURG – Senior
Theresa Horn is second in the heptathlon through four events to lead East Stroudsburg University on the first of three days at the 2014 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held Thursday through Saturday at Shippensburg University.
Horn, the PSAC indoor champion in the pentathlon, has 2,651 points through the first four events. She ran the 100m hurdles in 16.41 seconds, cleared 5-1 3/4 in the high jump, had a personal best of 35-8 in the shot put and ran a season-best of 27.17 in the 400m.
Slippery Rock freshman Sabrina Anderson leads with 2,815 points through the first four events, with the long jump, javelin and 800m on deck for Friday. Horn (2,651) is followed by Edinboro's Brianne Dietrich (2,641), Shippensburg's Samantha Beckerleg (2,616), Seton Hill's Nicole Malara (2,612) and Millersville's Arianna Camel (2,610).
Freshman
Brandie Tartza is 13th in the heptathlon, which included PR of 4-11 1/2 in the high jump.
Sophomore
Eric Conard is 13th through the first five events of the men's decathlon. He PR'd in the long jump with a mark of 18-10 3/4.
ESU had two finishers in the 10,000m. Freshman
Alex Zubko was 16th in the men's 10K in 35:02.78, and sophomore
Chelsea Conover ran 13th in the women's 10K in 40:58.65.
Friday opens with the conclusion of the multi's, followed by field event finals beginning at noon and track prelims starting at 1:05 p.m.
