LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Freshman Ronald D'Eliseo improved his NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the 400m hurdles as East Stroudsburg University track and field athletes competed at the Georgian Court Last Chance Meet on Friday.

D'Eliseo ran a time of 52.85, improving his ESU freshman record and NCAA provisional time of 53.26 on April 12 at Moravian. The time is the third-fastest in school history trailing only Jack Goldowski (51.93 in 1985) and Tony Sabb (52.65 in 1983).

D'Eliseo was coming off third-place finishes in the 110m hurdles (14.94) and 400m hurdles (53.59) at the PSAC Championships last weekend. He was just the third Warrior to score in both hurdles since 1980.

ESU had seven athletes compete at Georgian Court, including four who already had NCAA provisional marks.

In the men's high jump, sophomore William Berry cleared 6-8 1/4 after winning the PSAC title with a PR of 6-10 1/4 last weekend. He is tied for 18th on the national list through Saturday.

Junior Damien Boham ran 48.56 in the 400m and had a PR of 47.95 at Moravian on April 12. Senior Chris Schneider clocked 3:58.12 in the 1500m and has an NCAA  provisional time of 14:36.99, ESU's school record, in the 5000m.

Senior Kim Wernerspach ran 4:53.05 in the women's 1500m, sophomore Derrick Washington was 56.15 in the men's 400m hurdles and sophomore Seth Bailey, an indoor All-American, cleared 6-4 1/4 in the men's high jump.

ESU athletes turned in 12 NCAA provisional qualifying performances during the outdoor season, with the national field set to be announced next week for the NCAA Division II Championships at Grand Valley State (Mich.) on May 22-24.

Junior Christina O'Connor, a two-time NCAA indoor qualifier and 2013 All-American, is tied for ninth on the women's high jump list at 5-7 3/4. She won her third career PSAC championship with that mark last Saturday.

Junior Travis Toth is 13th in the men's weight throw with a mark of 198-11 which won his second career PSAC title. He was an indoor qualifier in the weight throw this winter and outdoor qualifier in the hammer as a sophomore.

Berry, tied for 18th in the men's high jump, is looking for his second career NCAA trip.

Other provisional qualifiers were junior Danielle Smith in the women's 400m (55.75), sophomore Kirsten Muhaw in the pole vault (11-11 3/4), senior Theresa Horn in the heptathlon (4,454 points), Boham in the 400m, Schneider in the 5000m, freshman Steven Morgan in the 110m hurdles (14.69), the men's 4x400m relay (3:12.07), Berry in the high jump and sophomore Thomas Freid in the javelin (194-2).
