BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. - Freshman Samantha Miller placed fifth to lead East Stroudsburg University at the Le Moyne Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Timber Banks Golf Club.
 
ESU finished third of four teams, with Le Moyne's "Green" team pacing the field with a two-day total of 696. Le Moyne had five of the top eight finishers, led by medalist Emily Stickel (169) and runner-up Kayla Burt (170).
 
Miller shot an 87 on Saturday and followed up with a 92 on Sunday on the par-72, 5,812-yard course. She was ESU's top finisher with an 89 at Alvernia in the season opener last Tuesday.
 
Senior Malene Frost was 12th (198) and junior Bridget Simons was 14th (201) for the Warriors. Junior Jen Jordan placed 17th (229) and freshman Mackenzie Mathna was 18th (230).
 
Le Moyne "Green" was followed by Franklin Pierce (731), ESU (806), Le Moyne "Gold" (822) and Southern New Hampshire, which did not complete the event after a 457 on Saturday.
 
The ESU Invitational, its home fall event scheduled for this Tuesday at Glen Brook Golf Club, was canceled last week. The Warriors' next action will come at the Kutztown Fall Invitational at Berkleigh Golf Club on October 4-5.
