Desiree Claxton had 15, but Kutztown came away with a 3-1 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's volleyball on Tuesday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Kutztown (7-6, 2-5) won the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-21, before ESU (4-11, 0-7) rallied for a 25-13 win in the third set. Kutztown outlasted the Warriors for a 28-26 win in the fourth.
Senior
Annabelle Charlton had seven kills, 24 assists, 19 digs and three blocks and sophomore middle hitter
Hanna Bergen had seven kills and three blocks for the Warriors.
Junior
Maddie Hutchison had 21 digs, giving her 1,213 in her career and moving into sixth in ESU's record book (since 1990). She passes
Kim Dormer, who had 1,207 digs from 2005-08.
Welch had 15+ kills for the sixth time in 15 matches this season, and Claxton reached double figures for the ninth time during her freshman campaign.
ESU has forced a fourth set in three of its seven PSAC matches this season.
Aly York had 14 kills and Chelsea Braga added 13 for Kutztown. Anna Conti had 37 assists and 17 digs and Madison Brake had 22 digs.
ESU travels to Millersville on Friday and Shippensburg on Saturday this weekend.
