Jessica Lawville scored two goals each, leading No. 8-ranked East Stroudsburg University to a 7-0 win at Adelphi in the 2014 field hockey season opener on Saturday afternoon.

Marisa Miro followed with goals, and Roth made it 4-0 just under 10 minutes into the second half.

Senior midfielder
Katie Barbato scored her first goal of the season, followed by goals by Lawville and Roth, to pad the lead.

Roth had two goals and two assists after leading the PSAC with 21 goals and 47 points in 2013. Lawville added an assist to go with her two goals, and sophomore midfielder
Desiraye Mack had an assist for her first career point.

Roth, Lawville (8 goals, 7 assists) and Seibert (9 goals, 7 assists) were ESU's top three scorers last season and all returned in 2014.

Roth, named to the NFHCA All-America first team as a sophomore, moved into the top 10 in school history with 33 career goals.

Danielle Ard made her third career start and had two saves for her first career shutout.

ESU's seven goals are its most in a season opener since a 7-0 win at Slippery Rock in 2006. ESU won 6-0 vs. Adelphi in its 2012 season opener and is 3-0 in the all-time series, outscoring the Panthers 17-0.
