Chelsea Conover and sophomore
Allison Decker ran second and third to lead East Stroudsburg University's women's cross country team to its second straight Division II/III team title on Saturday at the Fordham Ram Invitational.
Conover ran 19:19.36 and Decker clocked 19:19.61 in her ESU debut. Freshman
Samantha Young was 13th (20:21.64), junior
Melanie Riley was 14th (20:26.00) and sophomore
Lauren Toth ran 19th (20:45.64).
The Warriors' women were first of 11 Division II and III schools in the meet. They also won last year's team title led by individual winner
Kim Wernerspach.
The men were fourth of eight schools paced by junior
Alex Zubko, who was sixth in 27:59.78. Sophomore
Alec Lederer was 12th (28:18.86), sophomore
Anthony Ruiz 15th (28:28.22), freshman
Jeremy Rapposelli 19th (28:37.25) and senior
Kyle Reese placed 21st (28:49.25).
The Warriors are idle next week and are back on the course on Saturday, September 20 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
