Ally Roth both scored three goals, but No. 7-ranked Stonehill scored the game-tying goal with 31 seconds left and won it 2:15 into overtime, posting an 8-7 (OT) win over No. 8 East Stroudsburg University in non-conference field hockey on Sunday.

Lawville and Roth both had a hat trick in the same game for the third time in their careers, but Stonehill pulled out the win in a game that featured 15 goals - the most in a game involving ESU since a 16-0 win at Hunter in 1962.

The Warriors (1-1), who scored all of their goals in the second half of a 7-0 win at Adelphi on Saturday, led 4-2 at halftime and looked poised to improve to 2-0 before Stonehill rallied from deficits of 4-2, 5-3, 6-4 and 7-6 to tie the game just before the end of regulation.

Elizabeth Thornton sent the game to overtime with a goal with 31 seconds left, and Lauren Giordano had the winner for the Skyhawks 2:15 into overtime on an assist from Erika Kelly, who scored four goals.

Roth scored ESU's first three goals and Lawville added her first before halftime. In the second half, the two teams traded goals before Kelly scored twice to pull Stonehill even at 6-6 with 6:09 remaining in regulation.

Lawville appeared to give ESU the game-winner with 1:38 left, but Thornton scored just over a minute later for Stonehill.

Danielle Ard had five saves for ESU. Stonehill played two goalkeepers, with Elizabeth Genovese making 12 saves before giving way to Dana Dhami, who had one save in 8:59 to finish the game.

ESU held a 26-18 advantage in shots, including 15-5 in the first half, and a 9-6 margin in penalty corners.
