ERIE - Junior Tyson Searer won his 50th career match with a pin at 285 pounds, but No. 5 Mercyhurst posted a 32-9 victory over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC wrestling on Friday night.

Searer pinned Andrew Welton, ranked No. 3 in the NCAA DII Super Region 1 rankings, 2:18 into the first period to improve to 15-7 on the season.

Searer is 50-28 in his career, going 35-21 in his first two seasons at 197 pounds. He was 18-11 and a national qualifier as a freshman in 2012-13, and 17-10 as a sophomore in 2013-14. He improved to 29-7 in dual action.

Sophomore Tyler Richardson (197), the reigning PSAC Wrestler of the Week, earned a 3-0 decision over Brian Beattie to improve to 12-6 on the season (6-1 DII). Richardson, ranked No. 4 in the region at 197, had wins over the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked wrestlers last week.

Mercyhurst's lineup featured five nationally-ranked wrestlers, nine regionally-ranked wrestlers, two former All-Americans and eight former national qualifiers, including Welton at 285.

Mercyhurst won the only match-up of regionally-ranked wrestlers at 184, where the Lakers' Dakota DesLauriers, a returning national qualifier, notched a 3-1 sudden victory decision over ESU redshirt senior Luke DeLuise. DeLuise is ranked fifth and DesLauriers sixth in the region.

The Warriors remain in Erie for an 11 a.m. start at Gannon on Saturday.
