Tyeca Reviere scored a career-high 20 points, 13 in the second half and four more in overtime, but Lock Haven prevailed for a 64-61 (OT) win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's basketball on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Kirsti Bair had 15 points and 11 rebounds, Emily Daugherty scored 15 points and Sami Lane had 10 to lead Lock Haven (7-12, 6-9).
Sophomore forward
Allison Howard added 13 points for ESU (8-11, 7-8), which went to overtime for the second straight game after pulling out an 80-73 (2OT) win at Kutztown on Sunday.
The Warriors played consecutive overtime games for the second time in program history and the first time since playing three straight in February 1989.
Senior forward
Jessica Martin had nine points and four blocks and junior center
Michelle Boggs added nine points, seven rebounds and four blocks off the bench for the Warriors. Reviere also set a career-high with eight rebounds and grabbed four steals.
ESU came back from a six-point halftime deficit and rallied from a seven-point margin with four minutes left to send the game to overtime tied at 54-all.
LHU held a 10-7 edge in the extra session, shooting 3-for-5 from the field and 4-for-4 at the foul line.
Lock Haven led 26-20 at halftime, scoring the final six points of the period, before a back-and-forth second half.
ESU took its first lead (29-28) on a three-point play by Howard, then Lock Haven scored six straight to go ahead 37-31 with just over 12 minutes left.
The Warriors responded with a 9-0 run - including consecutive three's by Reviere and Howard - to lead 40-37, then Lock Haven came back with nine straight to push its lead to 46-40 with 7:17 remaining.
It was 50-43 after a layup by Bair with exactly 4:00 left, but ESU outscored Lock Haven 11-4 down the stretch to force overtime.
Reviere scored six straight points to cut it to 52-49, then redshirt senior guard
Andrea Veres (six points) made two free throws with 1:47 left.
A steal by Howard led to two free throws and a 53-52 edge at the 1:29 mark. Boggs split a pair to make it 54-52 with 1:16 left, then LHU's Daugherty hit a jumper to tie the game at 54-all with 1:05 remaining.
Both teams had chances to win it in the final 30 seconds with LHU grabbing two offensive boards on its ensuing possession, but each team turned it over in the closing moments.
In the extra period, Reviere's final points came on a layup with 47 seconds left to give ESU a 61-60 advantage, and the Warriors forced a turnover but missed two free throws.
Daugherty's jumper gave LHU a 62-61 lead with 20 seconds left, and after an ESU turnover, Bair made two free throws with five seconds left for a 64-61 advantage. Veres got off a 30-foot three-pointer at the buzzer that didn't find the mark.
ESU had a season-high 12 blocked shots, including four each by Martin and Boggs and two from Howard and senior forward
Kelsey Murray.
Lock Haven shot 37.7 percent (26-for-69) overall, 2-for-9 from long range and 10-for-14 at the foul line while committing 22 turnovers.
ESU shot 37.5 percent (21-for-56), 3-for-11 from the three-point line and 16-for-24 at the foul line with 23 turnovers.
ESU travels to Millersville for a 1 p.m. tip on Saturday with the Warriors and Marauders tied for fourth in the PSAC East standings.
