EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University had five PSAC qualifying times in the final meet of the regular season as the Warriors hosted their annual ESU Invitational on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

ESU will enter the PSAC Championships (February 19-22) at Cumberland Valley High School with 19 individuals who hit PSAC qualifying times in 65 total events.

Two Warriors hit PSAC times for the first time this season in sophomore Kandis Venn (100 back - 1:02.95 and 200 back - 2:17.51) and sophomore Victoria Gurdak (100 free - 56.05).

Junior Ashleigh Podhayny qualified in her 10th event, the 200 fly, in 2:20.33. Junior Sophie Coy is qualified in six events after posting a time of 4:51.53 in the 400 IM.

There was one Koehler Fieldhouse pool record in the meet that included four schools - ESU, Kutztown, LIU Post and Millersville.  LIU Post's 200 medley relay of Seren Jones, Carolin Rademacher, Joyce Kwok and Meghan Brazier swam 1:47.95, breaking the previous mark of 1:49.15 set by LIU Post in 2013.

Coy won the 400 IM and the Warriors finished second in eight events, led by Podhayny in the 200 fly (2:20.33), 200 back (2:14.56) and 200 IM (2:15.69).

Senior Karoline Vavra was second in both the 50 free (25.70) and 100 free (55.84) and senior Mara Palazzari was second in the 100 fly (1:02.30).

Venn placed second in the 100 back (1:02.95) and freshman Annie Fagan was runner-up in the 500 free (5:38.28).

Podhayny leads ESU's PSAC Championships entries with qualifying times in 10 events - 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 free, 100 and 200 back, 200 and 400 IM and 200 fly. She entered the week ranked in the top eight in the PSAC in the 400 IM (4:35.64), 100 back (58.68), 200 back (2:06.52) and 200 IM (2:08.38) and set school records in all four events.

Coy and freshman Kate Zimmerman have qualifying times in six events - both hit standards in the 50 and 100 free, 100 and 200 breast and 200 and 400 IM.
