EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore forward Allison Howard scored 22 points and senior forward Jessica Martin had 11 points, 20 rebounds and seven blocked shots, setting East Stroudsburg University's career record for blocked shots, in a 59-45 win over Seton Hill on Sunday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Martin has 244 career blocks, surpassing the previous record of 239 held by Sue Richards (1982-85). Her seven blocks are the second-most in her career.

Martin also tied a career-high with 20 rebounds, ESU's most since 1988, and moved into fifth at ESU in career rebounds (745). She had her second straight double-double and the 23rd of her career.

Howard added nine rebounds to go with her season-high 22 points. Redshirt senior guard Andrea Veres added 12 points for the Warriors (5-8, 4-5).

Meghan Mastroianni had 14 points to lead Seton Hill (5-8, 2-6), which shot just 25.4 percent (15-for-59) from the field and was 3-for-15 from the three-point line.

ESU had 11 blocked shots - seven by Martin and two each from Howard and freshman forward Rebecca Rutkowski - the program's third-most in the last 10 years.

The Warriors held Seton Hill to 17 points on 6-for-30 shooting in the second half to pull away from a 32-28 halftime lead.

An 8-0 run early in the second half gave ESU breathing room, stretching a five-point lead to 42-29 with five points from Howard and a three-pointer by Veres.

After Seton Hill got back within six (44-38) with less than 12 minutes left, the Warriors put together another 8-0 stretch capped by a three-pointer by sophomore guard Jackie Hillson, who tied her career-high with six points.

Martin, a three-time All-PSAC East selection, set a PSAC freshman record with 76 blocked shots in 2011-12, when she was PSAC East Freshman of the Year. She had 61 blocks as a sophomore, 70 as a junior and has 37 through 13 games this season.

Martin entered the weekend with 234 career blocks, fourth-most among active DII players.

Her current total of 244 career blocks ranks eighth in PSAC history, and is 10 away from entering the top five. She had her 16th career game with at least five blocked shots.

The Warriors travel to California (Pa.) for a conference game on Wednesday. The Vulcans (11-2, 8-1), ranked No. 23 in the most recent WBCA DII poll, had a seven-game winning streak end at No. 17 Bloomsburg, 68-56, on Sunday.
