Brielyn Hackett scored the goals, bringing East Stroudsburg University back from a one-goal deficit each time, as the Warriors managed a 2-2 (2OT) tie vs. Slippery Rock in PSAC women's soccer on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
Crysta Ganter gave Slippery Rock (7-4-1, 6-3-1) a 1-0 lead 6:13 into the game before Neal tied the score at 1-1 with a 41st minute goal 4:28 before halftime.
SRU went ahead 2-1 when Tess Keeley scored in the 58th minute, but Hackett answered just 1:05 later on an assist from junior forward
Liia Carpenter to pull the Warriors back even.
There was no scoring for the final 50 minutes of the contest despite a late surge by the Warriors, who had a 7-2 edge in shots in the two overtime periods. ESU had a 14-11 margin in shots in the game.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Jules Harris made four saves for ESU (6-4-1, 6-4-1). Charlotte Elrod had four saves for the Rock.
Neal's goal was her fourth of the season and the 17th of her career for the 2014 NSCAA All-America first team selection.
Hackett, who led last year's PSAC championship team with eight goals, had her second of the season and the 10th of her career. She is the third active Warrior with 10 career goals, joining senior forward
Sammi Jo Hughes (20) and Neal (17).
