Ally Roth scored all three goals for her sixth career hat trick as No. 3-ranked East Stroudsburg University won its ninth straight game with a 3-2 victory at IUP in PSAC field hockey on Saturday.
Roth extended her ESU career goals record to 67, scoring two goals in the first half and another with 20 minutes left in the second half. She has 14 goals this season.
ESU (12-2, 7-0) remains the only unbeaten team in PSAC play this year with three conference games remaining. The Warriors held a 10-3 advantage in shots, 7-3 in shots on goal and 12-3 in penalty corners.
ESU's nine-game winning streak is its second-longest in a single season in school history. The Warriors won their first 11 games in 2010.
Roth scored 18:45 into the game and again with 1:10 left before halftime to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.
IUP (5-8, 3-4) pulled within 2-1 on a goal by Haley Klinger 10 minutes into the second half, but Roth answered six minutes later for the Warriors.
The Crimson Hawks added a second goal by Matti Reightler with just over 14 minutes remaining.
ESU had held its first 13 opponents to 0 or 1 goals, tying the longest stretch in program history (1956-58). The Warriors entered with a 42-7 goal differential and were ranked No. 2 of 31 DII teams in goals against average (0.58) entering the week.
On Tuesday, the Warriors upended No. 1 Millersville, 1-0, to end the Marauders' 16-game winning streak.
ESU travels to Shippensburg for a PSAC game on Wednesday.
