Samantha Miller tied for 18th in a field of 40 golfers to lead East Stroudsburg University at the PSAC Women's Golf Championships, contested Saturday and Sunday at Hershey Country Club East.
Miller improved upon her 34th-place finish (of 45) as a freshman and is the first ESU golfer to finish in the top half of the conference since Karen Cash was third in 2009-10.
Miller shot an opening round 80, followed by an 89 for a two-day total of 169. She was tied for eighth after Saturday's round.
ESU finished eighth of eight schools that entered at least four golfers. Three golfers from Clarion entered individually.
Millersville won the team title by one shot (632-633) over California, and Millersville's Shannon Weber was the medalist by one shot (148-149) over Gannon's Diana Munoz.
Kutztown was third (650), followed by West Chester (657), Gannon (666), Seton Hill (674), Mercyhurst (706) and ESU (749).

Bridget Simons was tied for 33rd (186), sophomore 
Mackenzie Mathna tied for 35th (189) and freshman 
Caterina Daniels 38th (205) for the Warriors.
Miller is the third ESU golfer to place in the top half of the PSAC, along with Cash and Briana Malachowski, who was 14th in a field of 34 in ESU's inaugural season in 2008-09.
The Warriors will conclude their fall schedule on Tuesday at the Eastern Invitational at St. Davids Golf Club.
