Marisa Miro scored second-half goals as No. 1-ranked East Stroudsburg University rallied from a 2-0 first-half deficit for a 3-2 win at LIU Post in non-conference field hockey on Monday afternoon.
Senior forward
Ally Roth scored on a penalty stroke with 3:06 left in the first half to bring ESU (14-3) within 2-1 at halftime.
Stevenson scored 11:18 into the second half, assisted by senior midfielder
Rebecca Snyder, and Miro found the cage just over five minutes later for the game-winner.
LIU Post (10-6) got both of its goals from Steph Mocerino, scoring 3:10 into the game and again at the 22:49 mark of the first half.
LIU Post held a 12-5 advantage in shots, with ESU scoring on three of its four shots on goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Danielle Ard had five saves for the Warriors, and Ericka Parks had one save for the Pioneers.
Roth scored her 17th goal of the season and the 70th of her career, becoming the 12th PSAC player and 16th DII player with 70 career goals. She moved into 10th in PSAC history with 163 career points.
ESU, 8-1 in the PSAC after a 2-1 win at Kutztown on Saturday night, hosts Slippery Rock in its final PSAC game of the regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Warriors can secure the PSAC's No. 1 seed and the right to host the PSAC semifinals and finals (Nov. 6-8) with a victory. ESU won 2-1 (OT) at Slippery Rock in a non-conference game on Sept. 19.
Roth was named PSAC Co-Athlete of the Week for the second straight week earlier Monday, scoring both goals in Saturday's win at Kutztown.
ESU's comeback from a two-goal deficit is its first since falling behind 4-2 in the first half of a 7-6 win at Stonehill in 2012.
