Box ScoreKUTZTOWN - Alaina Curry scored the game-winning goal with 8:06 remaining, lifting Kutztown to a 2-1 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's soccer on Wednesday afternoon.
Kutztown (6-3-1, 6-3) took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Diana Malanga in the 18th minute.
Senior forward
Sammi Jo Hughes tied the game at 1-1 for ESU (6-4, 6-4) in the 68th minute, assisted by junior back
Hannah Gombos.
Hughes had her fifth goal of the season and the 20th of her career. She is the sixth player in school history with 20 career goals and 10 assists, hitting both of those numbers for 50 career points.
Sophomore
Jules Harris had four saves for ESU, and Imani Taylor had four saves for Kutztown. The Golden Bears held a 15-7 advantage in shots, 6-5 edge in shots on goal and 9-4 margin in corner kicks.
The Warriors have dropped their last two games, 2-1, on goals in the 80th minute or later after falling 2-1 at IUP on Saturday.
