Maddie Hutchison had 25 digs in her final collegiate match and East Stroudsburg University pushed Shippensburg to 27-25 in the first two sets, but fell in three sets in PSAC East women's volleyball on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Hutchison finishes her career second in school history in career digs (2,105) and digs per set (5.18), and third on ESU's single-season lists in digs (652) and digs per set (5.98). She ranked third in the PSAC and 14th in DII in digs per set entering the week.
In 120 career matches, Hutchison had 10+ digs 105 times, 20+ digs 41 times and 30+ digs nine times. She had at least 10 digs in every match this season.
Sophomore outside hitter
Desiree Claxton had 11 kills and eight digs, finishing the season with 250+ kills (380) and digs (279) for the second straight year. Her 380 kills this season are sixth on ESU's single-season list and the most since 2004.
